Web Software Developer (Summer Student/Intern)
Divestco is looking for a Web Developer to develop high value software products that meet the requirements of stakeholders while increasing the overall value proposition of Divestco software. Developers work with Product Managers and others to transform software requirements into commercially deployable solutions. This position is for the summer term.
Supervision Received
Reports to Manager-Software Development and receives general guidance.
Working Conditions
Office environment with open concept offices or remotely depending on COVID protocols.

Software Design and Development of internal and commercial software products and applications.
Liaise with other software development team members to collaborate on Divestco’s technical capabilities, processes and knowledge base, focused on web application development.
Work with internal stakeholders to provide analysis regarding the best strategies for web-based applications and services, including mobile apps.
Work to accurately evaluate risk and estimate software development tasks.
Strive to continually improve technical and developmental skills.
Excellent spoken and written communication with management, team members and customers.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
3rd or 4th year student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
Experience developing actual web services and applications

.NET development, C#, ASP.NET
Web development in ASP.NET. Java Script, HTML, DHTML
Experience with web protocols, web services, style sheets, and W3C web standards
Some understanding of Agile and Scrum development methodology
Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design methods
Solid oral and written communication skills and an understanding of Software Development Best Practices is desirable
Unit Test Authoring, and Code Review experience is desirable
Knowledge of Data Modeling and Database concepts would be an asset
Development experience in a team environment on a large desktop or web development initiative would be an asset
Experience with UI toolkits would be an asset
Oil & Gas Experience would be an asset
Must be a Canadian citizen, full time student and eligible for the Student Work Placement Program
