Geological Workshops
CrossLog Cross Sections (1/2 day)
This workshop is designed to provide an overview of CrossLog. This half day workshop explores Divestco's cross-sectioning software package. Students attending this course should have a basic geology background and basic computer skills. Students will learn how to select well from Divestco's data applications; edit, extrapolate and create events; utilize display selection; and model properties options; flatten a model; edit text and add graphics; print well logs and completed cross sections.
GeoCarta Core (1/2 day)
This half day workshop uses a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice to introduce you to the major features of GeoCarta Core.
By the end of the class, you should know how to:
- Create and work with projects
- Search for data
- Refine and filter your results
- Import and export your data
- Create and view reports
This workshop introduces you to all the tools available to you within the software and provides you with the knowledge you need to get started.
GeoCarta GIS (1 day)
This full-day workshop uses a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice to introduce you to the major features of GeoCarta GIS.
By the end of the class, you should know how to:
- Find and label objects on your map
- Create and work with projects
- View and search for data
- Refine and filter your results
- Import and export your data
- Create and view reports
This workshop introduces you to all the tools available to you within the software and provides you with the knowledge you need to get started.
Prerequisite: You must have a working knowledge of ArcMap. A portion of this course teaches about using GeoCarta GIS within the ArcMap interface, and it’s assumed that you already know how to use ArcMap.
GeoVista (1/2 day)
This half day workshop uses a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice to introduce you to the major features of GeoVista. The intended audience is geologists, engineers, land personnel, geophysicists, analysts, production accountants, technologists and oil & gas related personnel.
By the end of the class, you should know how to:
- Create and work with projects
- Navigate and customize your project's map
- View and search for various types of data
- Find and label objects on your map
- Query the database and refine and filter your results
- Import and export data
- Use analyzing tools on your data
